Nature Walks

Within the private grounds of Château de Cervolet, we have our own woodland nature walk with a rambling river.

Peace and relaxation as you enjoy a stroll through along our nature walk that takes you down beside the river.

Otters and coypu share the river as it meanders its way through the property around two islands and passing the now derelict flour mill.

Bring your binoculars, find yourself a nice spot. Enjoy.

Registered Walks

Our local area has some amazing registered walks throughout this stunning scenery.

If you like a casual stroll, rambling or a full on hike, the area around our Château offers walkers the opportunity to indulge in some of France’s most beautiful countryside.

Clear markings for each registered walk can be found on signage, tree’s and fences as you follow each route.

Our rare Sequoia Tree in the grounds of our Chateau in France

Our Sequoia Tree

This huge Sequoia tree is a wonderful feature within the private grounds of Château de Cervolet, towering high over the canopy of our many other tree’s.

The sequoia is a redwood tree and it is one of the largest tree species in the world.

The sequoia tree is listed as an endangered species by the IUCN, with fewer than 80,000 trees remaining.

According to Wikipedia, the Sequoia specimens are the most massive individual trees in the world. They grow to an average height of 50–85 m (164–279 ft) with trunk diameters ranging from 6–8 m (20–26 ft).

When we get a tape measure that’s large enough we will let you know the height and trunk diameter of our sequoia tree.

Until then, please trust us that it is a beautiful specimen and is wonderful to sketch, paint, draw or photograph. If that sounds your thing, all you have to do is book your stay.
